The Cohoes Eagles

So Willow and I live close enough to walk to Cohoes Falls. We (and Paul) walk down there when we're not feeling lazy and the sidewalks are clear. On New Years Day, our walk brought us there and what did we see but...eagles? Real eagles? Could it be?

Turns out YES. The Times Union had a story this morning regarding the eagles that feed at the hydroelectricity plant there...they were eagles!

Brookfield is doing a really nice job with the falls area. They have fixed up a little parkfront sitting area, it's lovely to visit. I am going to remember my camera to get some amazing pictures...hopefully with eagles!

It's been awhile....

Never getting into the habit of keeping up with posting (and so many other things in my life), I haven't been here in awhile. Willow and I are both doing well. We're having a torrential rainstorm now, soon to turn to ice and then snow. It was hard to get up knowing we'd need to walk in it. My goal is to have a fence by spring. There's a big home show in Albany this weekend, I'll go there and hopefully get some idea of what I'm in for.

I've been actively making collages using Picasa, and really having fun with it. Here's one of my better ones. The artwork is that of Sandra Spencer, mybunnies3 of eBay. I have purchased quite a few of her paintings.

So I have had Willow 19 days now...

I picked her up on the day before Christine's birthday, so her "Gotcha Day" is 10/24. She has been amazing so far. Her issues are few, but there's one big one...she is VERY BAD in the car. we will die one day if I don't do something about it. One start is I bought her a leash that hooks into the seat belt so she's pretty limited in where she can go in the car. She still moves around as much as she's able and cries...not in fear, from what I can tell, but to be heard. This needs major work.

I got our 2nd order of Screaming Monkeys over the weekend. The first order, I got two monkeys, which she quickly and skillfully de-voiced. She's so fun to watch, though, that I placed another order and got more. I'll be more judicious in doling them out to her this time. I took a short video of her with my camera just because she's a hoot...
